Terrible Tipper of the Day: Twitter @FutureExBanker says (by way of Eater): “my jerk boss tips exactly 1%” because he loathes the 99%.” He also apparently felt the need to tell True Food Kitchen server Breanna to “get a real job.”
I think it’s high time someone occupied his ass with their foot.

This is so incredibly offensive to me; I don’t know what I would do if I got a credit card slip back with that written on it. I have dealt with some pretty rude people in my six years of waiting tables, but never has someone ever said anything like this to me. My jaw literally dropped when this came up on my dash.
Why shouldn’t waiting tables be considered a real job? Because we’re working for minimum wage? Because we don’t have a 401K or retirement plan? Because we’re obviously all low life scum, taking the easy way out?
Let me clear something up for any one of you out there that believes what this pig seems to think: this is not an easy job. It’s not just putting on a happy face and taking a food order. We are responsible for the happiness of every single person that walks through our door. We are multitasking our brains out; taking orders, ringing them in, getting refills, dealing with someone’s over-cooked steak, washing dishes, clearing tables, running food, running drinks, making drinks, running six credit cards through at once, getting boxes, brings checks to tables…the list goes on. Sometimes we are screamed at, reduced to tears over our obvious incompetence because a table’s food took too long to cook or it was “the worst service of their lives” because a rush came in when only one server was on, and he/she did they best they could with only one set of hands…which is never good enough.
I am a college-educated adult, and I happen to be doing what I have to do in order to support myself, so don’t you dare presume to tell me or anyone else in this industry that what we’re doing isn’t real. It may not be the most glamorous job; I may not have benefits or a salary, but it pays my bills and allows me to live independently. Maybe this girl that you stiffed and insulted is just like me (and many, many other people in the service industry): educated, looking for what you have deemed a “real job,” and working 40 hours a week at a place where people are blatantly rude, demanding, and sometimes highly unappreciative of the work she does in order to ensure their happiness just so she can keep up on her rent while she sends her resume to potential employers every week.
Here’s a tip: the next time you go out to eat, try and remember that your server is a human being just like you. They make mistakes, and are probably doing the best they can to make sure your dining experience is a happy one. And most importantly, they are working to make a living…not because it’s something fun to do on the side.
I have never understood the concept of tips. My country doesn’t have tips, so I am so thoroughly confused why it is...
This came out as being a fake, read up:...
Quick, Internet. There is his signature. Take ALL THE CREDIT CARD INFO AND SIGN WITH IT!
